Welcome to Colombo College of Politics
Developing nations are on a quest to establish a prosperous and stable nation state through the pursuance of State reorganization, the pursuance of Democracy for stabilization of the state and the society, good governance and sustainable development. Nevertheless, there seems to be very little consensus on what these relevant key concepts are and on how to actually put them into operation within societies.
As a result of this the peaceful coexistence of different communities within a plural democracy, the preservation of human rights and the creation of a humane society through a participatory and consensual social movement have become a diminishing dream in the present day societies of these developing nations.
This inability has not only brought human made disasters to the nation states but the spillover effects of these disasters have had a serious impact on the neighboring states of these nations and thee world community.
Amongst the practical solutions in dealing with this challenges education has become a primary investment in developing a coherent and consistent policy frame work for developing a stable society.
The Colombo School of Politics was established in 2006 with a stated mission of dealing with the above mentioned challenges and finding multiple options to overcome these challenges through alternative multidisciplinary education programs.
The Colombo school of politics aims to introduce a number of study programs to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and necessary attitudes to critically analyze and design systems in developing a prosperous and stable; state and society.
The educational programs offered by the Colombo School of Politics provide an overview of the governance and democratization process in relation to the socio-economic and political dynamics within the country in particular and also in the context of global governance.
In achieving these goals the Colombo School of Politics tends to deviate from the traditional role of educational institutes and offer multidisciplinary courses that allow the participants to gain comparative knowledge on different theoretical insights and the different ‘facets' of practice relating to governance, politics and development in a manner that it also explains the implications that they have in a global and regional context.

In Law and Development studies CSP has identified that areas such as law and social inquiry, law and diplomacy in economic development, law and international treaties, economy and law have a greater demand for efficient policy making and implementation.
